Sandra Birdsell has been appointed a Member of the Order of Canada by the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada: For her contributions as an author, teacher and volunteer who, through her many books, has examined life on the Prairies and explored the immigrant experience in Western Canada.
